What is Early Scholars Preschool?

We are a half day program committed to preparing children for kindergarten.

I do not need daycare, why consider preschool?

Your child will have the opportunity to bridge the gap from home to school. As hard as parents try, they can not fabricate a social environment for their children so they can learn effective and positive social skills. In other words, adults don't 'play' the same way. We provide children with the exposure to a group of their peers necessary to develop these skills.

What will my child be doing at school?

We start our day with O'Canada in English and in French, then have our Opening Circle which includes our story of the week/month. Throughout the morning children will take part in small circle time, teacher-planned creative activities, free choice creative, snack time, music/drama/dance circle and free play time.

What will my child be learning?

Along with literacy, numeracy, fine and gross motor skills, your child will learn · how · to learn, and to be an effective learner as part of a large group setting. Children who feel safe, loved and welcome will be confident learners. Your child will learn problem solving skills, how to communicate with teachers and other children and most of all how to make friends!

How do we achieve this?

Our staff love what we do and we will help your child develop positive teacher/child relationships in a safe and loving environment. Children who feel safe, loved and welcome will be interactive learners. When children understand expectations and experience success they build confidence and a positive self esteem.
